Musician and guitarist: Joey Soplantila
Joey begun to play guitar when he was 15 years old as an autodidact player (self-learning skills). On the age of 17th he went to a pre-school for conservatorium music. In the same time he had lessons by Jayson Bouwens. Jayson was his first real guitar teacher in the skills of ‘Flamenco’ and latin music.
Joey’s first band experience was when he was 16 years old (1990). He played in the band ‘Trinity’. This band was a rock & roll band.
After that he went to pre-school conservatorium and played in de college-band after an examination on age of 17th (1991, in classic music and popmusic).
In 1992/1993 he played in ‘Solo Band’ as lead guitarist. Solo Band was a cover band such like popmusic.
In 1995 he was playing in ‘The Daylights’ within popmusic and rockmusic.
Then it was quite for more then 10 years while he was teaching young kids for guitarplaying.
Comeback
The comeback was in 2008, when he begun to play as guitarist on jamsessions in Middelburg De Spot.
He was working here as a volunteer jamsession leader/master for kids and persons between the age of 15 till 25 years old (who are very skilled in musictalent).
And also asked as guitarist and musician for singers-songwriters on themes.
Meanwhile he went to a gothic/metal rockband ‘Starlit Nights’ as a guitarist.
In 2009 he was asked to play funk, soul and r&b music for A&D Projects as a guitarist.
In 2010 he was a well known person on the jamsessions in De Spot. Sometimes he went to Vlissingen (jamsession Paljas) to improvise some new stuff with bassguitarist Jaimy Manuhutu.
Where Joey’s contributions to others material has been constrained by the largely rock, funk, soul or popmusic of those bands and jamsessions, his own material is considerably more esoteric. You can see this on youtube account:

Joey likes to play on electric RG (rock) guitars with floyd rose element or floating tremolo and toplocks. This because he likes to play often with his tremolo while playing guitar on flageolet (such as screaming sound).
His interests lay down on Ibanez guitars.
The influence of Joey are: Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, Reb Beach, Patrick Rondat and Richie Sambora.
